The other day I took a trip with a couple of my friends to the Vancouver Christmas Market and it was great! The market is located outdoors but even on a drizzly day it felt cozy and welcoming with lots of twinkly lights and decorations. Each booth looks almost like a little gingerbread house, and there are over 55 different vendors to choose from. You can find great drinks, yummy food, and lots of unique gifts. There is even a carousel and live music.
My friends and I stopped at the Berlin Vegan Eatery stand- a tribute to Berlin, the “#1 vegan city in the world”. I had the “nutty nog”- a spiked Christmas classic, served hot with organic coconut nog, frangelico and amaretto. Okay, it was delicious!
I also had a veggie sausage (Italian organic sausage on an organic bun, served with choice of sauerkraut, baby kale, banana peppers, red onions and curry-spiced ketchup). I was starving and just so stoked to be able to find something vegan to eat at this market! There were other vegetarian and vegan options as well, from wood-fired pizza to borscht. There was a ton of gluten free selections from drinks to savoury foods, baked goods and candy.
If you are looking for something fun to do one day this holiday season, be sure to check out the Vancouver Christmas Market!
