• Drop Dead Recipes- Sweet Potato Fries & Chipotle Mayo

I’m so stoked to be able to tell you all that I’ve paired up with my favourite clothing company, Drop Dead Clothing,  to provide their new blog with vegetarian & vegan recipes. I really love this brand, I think I’ve bought just about every piece of clothing they’ve come out with (and so has my boyfriend!). I kicked things off with deliciously addictive sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo. Definitely vegetarian and easily veganized by use of vegan mayo, which I used! Sweet Potato Fries with Chipotle Mayo Everyone loves sweet potato fries (or yam fries). I know because Google told me so.  They are eaten all over the world,…

    Vegan Vampire Cupcakes

Halloween is coming up soon, and these are the perfect treats to make for your friends and family! I have created vegan vampire cupcakes, and they are a ton of fun to make. My boyfriend, Rhys, and I made this how-to video to show you guys exactly how to make these. I hope you enjoy it! * For best quality, switch video to 1080p HD   Again, if you aren’t concerned with these being vegan, feel free to replace vegan margarine with regular butter. I often bake vegan cupcakes but not-vegan frosting. I love my vegan cupcakes, they are so light and moist, but I enjoy the flavour of…

  • Baked Pumpkin Donut Holes

Is it really my first pumpkin recipe of the season!? Normally, I’m pumpkin crazy. I’m going to owe this to the fact that until yesterday, Vancouver had brilliant sunshine and record-breaking temperatures. It didn’t even feel like Fall until yesterday! Well, now it’s time to buckle down and use pumpkin until I’m sick of it- which really never happens… This is a delicious recipe for donut holes, or donut middles. I found it from Two Peas In Their Pod. I first adapted this recipe with a whole wheat pastry flour and some other small changes. When I popped it in the oven I realized I had made a fatal error….I FORGOT…

  • Home-Made Natural Toothpaste

I have developed quite an interest in learning about what goes into popular skin care products these days. What I’ve found out, is that I really don’t want most of these things leaching into my body. If I wouldn’t eat them, why would I want to slather them on my skin, day after day. I’m reading a great book right now called “There’s Lead in your Lipstick” by Gillian Deacon and I highly recommend it! It’s super fascinating and talks about everything from make-up and toothpaste to hair care and sunscreen. It’s full of useful information and natural DIY recipes. So, I’ve made my own body butter before, and I…

  • Summer Pink Sangria

I love sipping on sangria, and this is my favourite recipe for it. It’s a pink sangria, which I like better than a white or red sangria. It’s fruity, light, and refreshing! But it’s so tasty that you might drink a little too much of it….not that I’ve done that or anything. The thing that really makes this sangria special is the ginger. It adds a little kick that is just right! I have made this many ways, from using orange juice one time to grapefruit juice the next, but the ginger always remains. So play around with this recipe using different fruits and juices, just try not to get…

  • Fresh Vegetarian Pea Soup

I love soup, and pea soup is one of my favourites. It’s light, healthy, and easy to make. I am especially fond of pea soup after one of my recipes for it was published in a cookbook! I made pea soup the other day, and the recipe I used was very similar to my own Spring Pea Soup. The difference was that for once, I had fresh peas on hand! I always make soup with frozen peas, but thanks to the garden this year, I had a huge bag of fresh peas to use! I topped the soup off with a dollop of Greek yogurt for a bit of extra…
