Drop Dead Recipes – Buddha Bowls
I’m sure you’ve all seen “Buddha Bowls” floating around Instagram and Facebook. They are a super trendy food right now, but it’s great because they are so delicious and super healthy. I’ve created this Winter Buddha Bowl full of roasted vegetables, quinoa, and a freakin’ insane miso gravy. Obviously you can substitute whatever veggies you like the most, and if you aren’t into quinoa, white or brown rice would work great, too. Winter Buddha Bowl 200g yam, sliced 1/2″ thick 200g beet, sliced 1/2″ thick 125g carrot, sliced 1/2″ thick 125g broccoli, chopped into florets 1/2 tsp sea salt 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 tbsp sesame seeds Preheat oven to…

Drop Dead Recipes- Raw Cashew Cheesecakes
I just wanted to take the time to post a little update and let you know where I’ve been at over the Summer, as my Koko’s Kitchen posts have definitely slowed down. Lots of changes have been happening, and I really want to get my recipes back up regularly again! First of all, I’ve been busy with Koko’s Kitchen the business. I’ve been selling juice at Back Roads Family Farm Market all summer, and I attended markets at the Tsawwassen Saturday Market as well. I’ve been filling orders for 3-day reboots (juice cleanses) and keeping busy with a full-time job as well. It’s been a bit overwhelming this summer to…

Drop Dead Recipes- Chickpea Omelette
This month’s edition of #DropDeadRecipes is all about breakfast! I’m not a huge breakfast person, mostly opting for a smoothie and a coffee, sipped on the go as I head to work in the morning. Sometimes, however, I get a craving for something a little more special, and something to be enjoyed say, sitting down at a table- hah! This recipe is my take on an omelette…but there are no eggs involved. I guess technically this is more of a crepe or savoury pancake, but it’s prepared in the pan as you would an omelette. Call it what you wanna call it- it will taste the same either way! There…

Drop Dead Recipes- Mango Berry Crumble…In A Jar!
This month I bring you another little dessert recipe and it’s perfect for Summer. These mango berry crumbles are served in a jar so they are portable and great for taking to BBQ’s at your friends or to the beach. You can bake them in the jar itself, and just put the lid on and they are ready to travel. You can really use any combination of fresh, Summer fruit here- but I chose a combination of blueberries, strawberries, and mango. I used buckwheat flour in the crumble topping so it’s entirely gluten-free and I used coconut sugar and maple syrup as sweeteners to keep things refined-sugar free! Head over…

“The Simpsons” Donuts
This month’s recipe for Drop Dead Clothing has been released and I’m so excited about it. In case you didn’t know, Drop Dead Clothing has recently released a new collection, and it happens to be an Itchy & Scratchy collaboration. I may not be the hugest Simpsons fan in the world, but I can appreciate greatness when I see it, and this is awesome! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these items! To go along with the new collection, I had to make something Simpsons themed. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was Homer Simpson’s favourite donut. I searched high and low, all…

Drop Dead Recipes- Vegan Milkshakes
This month’s recipe for Drop Dead Clothing is all about milkshakes- two flavours to be exact. Toasted coconut and chocolate espresso…mmmmm. I’ve found all kinds of amazing vegan ice creams lately from brands like Almond Dream, Rice Dream, So Delicious, and my favourite Coconut Bliss. The flavours of dairy-free ice cream that they are coming up with now are just amazing. There is really no need to miss out on ice cream if you are vegan, or suffer from dairy allergies. I’ve created these two recipes as a basic guideline, and from there, you can create all sorts of different flavours. I’ve included a list of suggestions that I personally think would be delicious, but go ahead and experiment-…
