Drop Dead Recipes- Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
For this month’s #dropdeadrecipes series I have made some delicious plant-based mint chocolate chip ice cream. I was so stoked at how the flavour of this turned out. Considering it uses a coconut milk base, along with spirulina to tint it green, it is quite different from my old favourite mint chocolate chip ice cream. Those who have tried this can agree that it tastes just like the “real” thing. I think it tastes even better- no chemicals, preservatives, or dairy-induced stomach ache! Pana Chocolate- Melbourne, Australia
I had the pleasure of spending a few days in Melbourne, Australia about a month ago when Rhys and I went on an Australian road trip for a month! Melbourne is an awesome city- I really enjoyed it. It’s October! I bet you all are well into Fall in the Northern Hemisphere- pumpkin spice, leaves on the ground, Halloween not too far away and of course, Canadian Thanksgiving. Drop Dead Recipes- Mango Berry Crumble…In A Jar!
This month I bring you another little dessert recipe and it’s perfect for Summer. These mango berry crumbles are served in a jar so they are portable and great for taking to BBQ’s at your friends or to the beach. You can bake them in the jar itself, and just put the lid on and they are ready to travel. You can really use any combination of fresh, Summer fruit here- but I chose a combination of blueberries, strawberries, and mango. I used buckwheat flour in the crumble topping so it’s entirely gluten-free and I used coconut sugar and maple syrup as sweeteners to keep things refined-sugar free! Head over…

Sooo…if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you will know the recent tragedy and devastation that I endured, as I realized I had lost the recipe for these raw blackcurrant and lemon squares. This month’s recipe for Drop Dead Clothing is all about milkshakes- two flavours to be exact. Toasted coconut and chocolate espresso…mmmmm. I’ve found all kinds of amazing vegan ice creams lately from brands like Almond Dream, Rice Dream, So Delicious, and my favourite Coconut Bliss. It’s that time of yeaaaaaaaaaaar!! I just wanna curl up and watch Christmas Vacation and ELF!! Christmas is one of my fav times of the year and I am a little sad to be ‘missing it’ this year. By missing it I mean I won’t be at home for Christmas, as I arrive in New Zealand on Christmas Eve. Raw Gingerbread Cake with Cashew Cream Cheeze Frosting
I have to fit in as much holiday cooking and baking as I can before I leave for New Zealand in 16 days! These are top notch when it comes to summer desserts! Vegan peanut butter cookies, combined with banana ‘ice cream’ and chocolate…what could be better! These take a little bit of time to make…most of it not hands-on though (just freezing time). But make a big batch and you will have them for the rest of the summer to enjoy whenever you want.
