One Green Planet- Sesame Tofu + Broccoli Salad

This month, on One Green Planet, I’m sharing one of my favourite salad recipes. It’s my take on a salad I have had a few times at one of my favourite Vancouver vegetarian restaurants. It’s base is mixed greens, with steamed broccoli and warm chickpeas. The tofu is seared on the outside, heating it up and giving it a nice crust, and the sesame dressing is served warm, too. Between the chickpeas, the tahini in the dressing, and the tofu, this is one hearty and filling salad! I hope you give it a try.

  • There is nothing about this salad that I don’t love! The seared tofu, warm chickpeas and bed of greens look and sound so delicious KoKo – as does your tahini dressing. I think I would have fallen in love with that restaurant as well…This such a wonderful image too – you really capture the colour and vitality of the food – beautiful!

  • A terrific & tasty salad, Koko! I am not a big fan of tahini but I will give this tasty looking salad a go!

    Have a great weekend!

Thanks Kelly! If you’re ever in Vancouver, the restaurant is called Foundation and it’s a funky little place with a great vegetarian menu! Don’t go here for a quiet conversation, though…the music is LOUD!!

Thanks Sophie! Try almond butter instead- I’ve made a great almond version of this recipe, too!
